Coaching Bursary Gaining a swimming qualification is vital in developing coaching skills. Undertaking such training is often expensive. To reduce some of the financial burden, swimnorthwest can now offer funding towards the completion of swimming qualifications. Which courses are eligible? Level 1 - Level 1 Coaching Swimming
- Level 1 Teaching Aquatics
- Level 1 Diving
- Level 1 Water Polo
- Level 1 Synchronised Swimming
Level 2 - Level 2 Coaching Swimming
- Level 2 Teaching Swimming
- Level 2 Diving
- Level 2 Water Polo
- Level 2 Synchronised Swimming
Who is Eligible? - Applicants must be living or studying within the North West Region.
- Applicants must be in full time education or unemployed.
- The proposed course must be recognised by the ASA and the applicant must meet all course criteria.
- The course must be delivered by the IOS.
How often can I apply? - Only one application per individual can be made per financial year.
How much is the Bursary? - 40% of the total course cost
What is expected of the applicant? - Applicants must pay the remaining amount of the required course.
- Applicants must complete 15 hours of volunteering within 12 months of receiving their certificate.
- Applicants receiving the bursary for Level 1 courses must agree to complete a Level 2 qualification within 18 months.
- Applicants must agree to become licensed within 12 months of receiving their qualification.
