Coaches and Teachers

Coaches and teachers are crucial to swimming. In the North West region hundreds of people give up countless hours of their time to support the region’s athletes. Do you enjoy teaching your kids to swim? Perhaps you have been informally coaching a friend on how to improve their technique. Or maybe you would just like to try something new and have aspirations for a future career change. In any case, becoming a swimming teacher or coach can be an extremely rewarding vocation.

All of the aquatic disciplines need coaches and teachers, as these are the key people who skillfully guide people of all ages and abilities through the fun and excitement of participation, competition and training, instilling a love of working hard to achieve personal goals.

Our sport needs expert coaches who can identify and nurture talent in its widest sense, allowing it to blossom. We need coaches who can guide world class athletes towards that most elusive of prizes, Olympic gold. We have some brilliant coaches and teachers in the North West – but we need more! We want to ensure that everyone is effectively supported, developed and deployed and that coaches and teachers across the region work together for the good of participants throughout the sport.
